As in the previous one of their offerings I tried, here, too, the "dark roast" is actually pretty light, or, on the Scandinavian scale, medium at most. Excellent. The bag note is full, but slightly bitter. Creosote? It sounds horrible perhaps, but is actually very pleasant. In the brewed product this bitter aroma meets with a slight sweetness, that is molasses-like, syrupy even. All of this translates beautifully to the actual taste, too. The company's description, "malt, oak & syrupy" is spot on. Rante Karua is a happy marriage of a toasted woodiness with an edge, and a soft, round, malty goodness. And yes, this relationship is an enduring one, too: the finish is long and sweet, just as if the two parties love to be together, and stay that way forever. (For the Finnish readers: despite the name, there is absolutely nothing "karua" [bleak, rugged] to this excellent product.) #roastcoffee #coffeeinCopenhagen #bialettimoka #coffeereviews A post shared by Harri Huovinen (@harrihuovinen) on Jul 23, 2018 at 12:47am PDT
Roast Coffee Sitio da Torre Dark Roast 29.12.2018Jätä kommentti View this post on Instagram Sitio da Torre Dark Roast from @roastcom in Copenhagen. Now, this is not your regular Scandinavian "dark roast," where the bean is almost destroyed, but actually a rather medium one. This in itself is a good sign. The very high quality of these Brazilian Yellow Catuai beans is apparent the second you open the bag. As you grind them, you get a delicious aroma that matches the company's description: pistachios, cocoa powder & mandarin. In the Bialetti Moka you get a brew that is – as promised – nutty and moderately acidic. Exactly what you would expect from a good pulped natural coffee. Also, after a couple of sips you really start to appreciate the slight sweetness that you find in the finish. All in all, this is an excellent product that, first, makes even a hard core robusta man want to look into more pulped naturals, and second, makes him think of checking out some cheap flights to Copenhagen. If you're in the neighborhood, do yourself a favor and visit Roast Coffee. I'm glad I did. #roastcoffee #coffeeinCopenhagen #bialettimoka #coffeereviews A post shared by Harri Huovinen (@harrihuovinen) on Jul 15, 2018 at 6:31am PDT
